About Studio Poppybird

Hi! I'm Melanie, the person behind Studio Poppybird! I used to draw as a child, secretly doodling on schoolwork and, to my parents' annoyance, sometimes in books (haha). Then I didn't draw for years, until after the loss of our little daughter. She inspired and motivated me to start drawing again. From drawing, I also started my own business, learning to work with programs like Illustrator, and learning watercolor painting. I loved figuring things out and learning on my own. The illustrations are colorful, full of imagination, and with a touch of humor. I create my illustrations in watercolor, but I also enjoy drawing with the 'digital' pencil. Hand-drawn postcards and greeting cards for every occasion! But also stickers and soon more fun items! Additionally, I design birth announcements. I make all my products with a lot of love, and you can feel and see that! I find my inspiration in many things, during walks in our beautiful Limburg hills. In the forest, in flowers, and even in scents and colors. I am a dreamer, a sensitive person, and I love working with both brush and watercolor as well as digital illustration. I adore animals (and you can see that in the illustrations). The motto of Studio Poppybird is: making the world more beautiful, which I hope to achieve with my products, bringing a smile to everyone who receives a card or other product!
