About Laura Slater

Process I Pattern I Print I Product Laura Slater established her textile design studio after graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2007. Laura’s design ethos celebrates the engagement we have with pattern and colour its ability to connect us with the environments and objects we surround ourselves with. Process is an integral part of Laura’s design practice with drawing and printmaking at its core. Laura’s designs are resolved through the intuitive method of working with composition, colour and surface through the act of making. Hand Screen Printed and made in the UK, Laura’s products seek to act as an accessible route to interact with art as part of the everyday, and in turn has seen much of her work in many national gallery retail offers. This has led Laura to work across diverse applications including textiles, fashion, fashion accessories, interiors, illustration, ceramics, greetings and packaging. Clients and collaborators include: Ikea Global, Heals, Harvey Nichols, John Lewis, Tate, The Hepworth Wakefield, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Nottingham Contemporary, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Charleston, Somerset House, Leeds Art Gallery, Lomography, 1973 Ltd, Royal Horticultural Society and Bliss Home.
