About Mary Pow Designs

Mary Pow is a visual artist who works in two mediums: textiles and soft pastels. Her sewn fabric textile art is vibrant and abstract - and instantly recognizable with its unique architectural qualities. Her soft pastel paintings and drawings focus on scenes of nature and wonder. Mary grew up in rural Minnesota, on a farm that had been in her family for four generations. Everything in her life was either homemade or handed down and she spent most of her time being imaginative, exploring, and creating. She went to college to become an architect and has a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Washington, Seattle. Through this unique lens, her art practice has flourished. She works out of her art studio in NE Minneapolis and travels across the country to attend the nation’s top art fairs. Mary delights in finding joy in the ordinary – and believes possibilities are everywhere if you know how to look. Read their story
