After completing a degree in graphic design as a mature student in 2019, Julia discovered a passion for gouache—a vibrant, opaque paint similar to watercolour but with richer, bolder hues. She uses this medium to create intricately detailed paintings, often inspired by still life scenes, particularly food. However, her subject matter spans a wide and playful range. Now a full-time artist, based in Norwich in the UK, Julia’s work is frequently praised for its remarkable attention to detail—whether it's a single cake crumb or the delicate glint of light on a ceramic vase. Many of her paintings are transformed into greeting cards, carefully selected based on their appeal to the card-buying audience.
