About Object Flux

Object Flux is an art and design studio best known for making jewelry with unique material combinations. The studio was founded by the designer and craftsperson Sam Laddin in 2023 and operates out of Jersey City, NJ and Brooklyn, NY. Sam developed the gemstone in wood technique in 2017 while studying in the small gemstone village of Idar-Oberstein, Germany - where she received her MFA in Jewelry and Gemstones. Rich in gemstones and maple wood, Sam made her first gemstone in wood necklaces due to material scarcity. Combining gemstones and wood is what we are best known for to this day, with collectors spanning the globe. We continue to use wood in similar ways to how we use stone - letting the natural wood grain and patterns of the stone to combine as if the two were made for each other. We are committed to using the highest quality, natural materials, with ancient techniques to create tactile jewelry to enhance the natural beauty of the wearer.Read their story
