About Second Line Candle Company, LLC

The name Second Line comes from the parades, which served as a tradition that included bright colored suits, hats and a brass band; took place in the streets during a funeral as a symbol to celebrate life even during what most would consider a time of mourning. Coming from a state that has faced many life changing events from Hurricane Katrina to high crime rates; the word resilient comes to mind for those who have survived them. Like most people, during the pandemic, there were two things that we all had in common; uncertainty and time. Although candle making was generally a hobby that I would visit over the years; I decided to share my affinity for home fragrances for the first time during a holiday market in Covington, LA and the rest was history. Growing up in various cities throughout Louisiana, I decided to create scents named from most places , events and neighborhoods that have been most memorable from my childhood, in hopes of giving others a sense of Louisiana's culture to have in their homes.Read their story
