About Kabra Barcelona

Kabra was born in 2024, created by Mark and Ainhoa, two enthusiasts of creativity, technology, and craftsmanship. Although we come from different worlds—innovation, computing, music, and entrepreneurship—we share a clear idea: we wanted to create something together, something with personality, something that anyone could hold in their hands and that would bring a smile to their face. And so Kabra was born. But it wasn't born just anywhere. Kabra is a project rooted in Mataró, a city with a deep textile tradition. For decades, it was a hub of garment production in Spain, but with globalization and the outsourcing of production, many factories closed, and with them, thousands of seamstresses lost their jobs. When we started to imagine Kabra, we dreamed of giving new life to that tradition. We wanted those same women, experts in the craft, to sew our cases. We met with many of them, listened to their stories, and were inspired by their experience. However, we soon realized a reality: the materials we use, with textures like fur or special finishes, were not compatible with their sewing machines. Moreover, being a project in its early stages, the risk for them was too high. So we made a decision: we would sew the cases ourselves.
