They embody the search for light within darkness. On a Friday afternoon in June 2022, Kelsey, an on-duty police officer, responded to a call outside her local grocery store. Using her baton to smash open a car window to save a life, she sliced her wrist, leaving her with life-changing injuries. The aftermath of that incident was the darkest period of her life. The loss of freedom, independence, & the ability to perform daily tasks led to struggles with dark thoughts. Kelsey turned to self-care as a way to cope with the pain. Engaging in a nightly routine with candles brought tranquility to Kelsey amid her darkest times. Handcrafting each candle, even with her injury, became her way of reclaiming power. Pearl & Company’s candles are non-toxic, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, gluten-free, & vegan, with no artificial dyes, made with premium fragrance oils, plant-based wax blend, & 100% cotton wicks that are free of lead & zinc. All are handmade in small batches in Mass., they burn clean with a burn time of 40-50 hours.
