Anna Stark is a self-taught oil painter based in the Twin Cities. She attended Perpich Center for Arts Education where she studied film and photography. She went on to attend Columbia College Chicago where she studied writing, drawing and marketing. She has been painting professionally for the past three years. She has works in A.M.F. Gallery in Minneapolis, Minnesota and sells her merchandise at The Mustache Cat in St. Paul, Minnesota. I've been involved in art and creative expression for nearly fifteen years. I paint everyday objects, ranging from soft drinks to video game controllers and lunch boxes to Pez dispensers – and lots of candy! The idea is to stir up those sentimental feelings that tap into our collective, playful nature – to evoke those happy feelings we all felt in our past when we were content with just a Capri Sun and a Ring Pop. I want observers of my art to remember their childhoods. I want to tug on their nostalgic heart strings and remind them that our younger years was packed to the brim with colorful adventure, decadent flavor and unabashed entertainment.
