It all started with a house full of houseplants and nowhere left to put them. Laura, a lifelong plant obsessive, had filled every windowsill of her Victorian terrace – a charming home, but not exactly blessed with natural light or space. With the floor firmly spoken for, she turned to the walls.​ Teaching herself to make macramé plant hangers was the first step. Here she developed a pattern for a unique modern style - not a bead or tassel in sight! They were perfect for trailing plants – but what about the more structural ones? That’s where her dad, David, came in. A skilled woodworker, he built her a shelf that she could weave her macramé through – a practical, good-looking solution for having even more plants! Next came the propagation problem. Laura had cuttings everywhere – spice jars, old glasses, anything that would hold water. Not exactly a design statement. So she created neat, minimalist propagation units that turned clutter into a feature.Read their story
