Nanoa means “pure nature.” This is the basis for all the work of the start-up founded in 2019. In order to develop sustainable home textiles, the company therefore uses the “all-rounder” among plants — the hemp plant. Even when grown, this versatile crop is much more sustainable than conventional cotton. It uses less water, requires no pesticides and does not leach the soil. The outstanding properties of the textile fiber have completely convinced the founders of nanoa, the sister duo Nadja and Helena. The fabrics feel wonderful on the skin and their antibacterial properties keep unpleasant mites and bacteria away. And the “superstar” among plants has a lot more up his sleeve! Since hemp fiber is breathable and thermoregulating, the home textiles are ideal for every season. Avoiding plastic in both the product and the packaging is also an important part of the company philosophy. The home textiles are fairly produced in Portugal and Germany.
