The Story Behind Bernie’s Bowties Bernie, a three-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, is the heart and soul behind Bernie’s Bowties. When he received a bowtie for his first Christmas in 2021, his family – including Leah, his dog mom and a passionate graphic designer – fell in love with dressing him up. But they could never find bowties that truly captured Bernie’s unique personality. Inspired, Leah began designing custom bowties just for him, and in early 2023, Bernie’s Bowties was born. Proudly Handmade What began as a creative hobby quickly grew into a beloved business, with every bowtie designed in-house and handcrafted at home in Monterey. Today, Bernie’s Bowties are made for dogs big and small (and even for cats who think they’re dogs!) – each one earning Bernie’s “stamp of approval” and promising a bowtie worthy of every dapper pet.Read their story
