Mona (the founder) was a Geology & Mining engineer and during her career, she had a long-time passion for understanding the ingredients used in the cosmetic industry and their effects on skin, particularly luxury skincare brands promoting exotic ingredients Moving to New Zealand, she realized that New Zealand offered natural alternatives to make natural and effective skincare using the “clean & green” concept, creating a great alternative to her favorite brand. However, she realized the existing natural skincare brands, simply don’t have much anti-aging effect. They might be good moisturizers, but they lacked active ingredients or peptides that can make them work as anti-aging. With a passion to create a premium skincare brand, she discovered that New Zealand had all the right natural and world-leading ingredients to make this happen. New Zealand Secret started five years ago with a vision of introducing “natural, clean & green” skincare and health products to the market that work, are sustainable, and are backed by science. Over the five years, we have developed and tested a range of products that utilizes the best ingredients in the world, sourced sustainably here in New Zealand.
