About Cards by Charlot

Cards By Charlot is the child of a lifelong love of drawing and fantasy. My career was as an academic, a Renaissance art historian with a secret desire to create art himself. When I retired I finally had the time to pursue my passion. Aided by my son’s generous gift of a tablet and a color printer, I first made cards just for the family. But then, by chance my wife’s sewing machine needed repair and we visited a quilting store which did repairs. Inspired by the quilts and fabric I suggested to the owner that I could make note cards for her to sell with patterns inspired by traditional quilting designs. She agreed and Cards by CHARLOT was born. Now I branched out far beyond those original designs and make original cards of all types for all occasions, successfully selling them online and through a couple of local outlets, including the original quilt shop and a couple of local bookstores.
