About Kubota Minoru Ceramics Co.

Kubota Minoru Ceramics Co. was founded in 1965 by Minoru Kubota. Although as a kiln in the Arita area, the kiln doesn't particularly have a long history compared to other kilns, Kubota learned about the ceramic business from scratch, and started to produce ceramics. From the 1980s, he started his research into ceramics, and was able to successfully develop materials with amazing heat resistance as well as porosity, with the creation of the world’s first ceramic coffee filter which utilized these porous ceramic materials being launched in the mid-80s. Beyond its exceptional brewing capabilities, our Kubota Ceramic Filter and Wave Filter champions environmental responsibility. A cornerstone of Kubota Minoru Ceramics’ ethos has been to create products that are both exceptional in taste and gentle to the environment. In 1996, our company received the coveted Science And Technology Agency Director General’s award for our research and development in the field of ceramics.
