The Croquet de Charost biscuit factory is an emblematic company in Berry whose origin dates back to 1848. Legend has it that a railway worker on the way to Santiago de Compostela who had asked the baker Aubert de Charost for hospitality gave him as a thank you a recipe for a biscuit, fat-free, energetic, which can be kept for a long time so that pilgrims can snack along the way in order to resist fatigue.
