About Simply STEM Designs

Hello! My name is Mikayla and I am the face behind Simply STEM Designs. I started my shop in November of 2020 while also starting my Ph.D. program in biomedical engineering. I started my shop because I wanted to share my love for science and creating with others. When I was an engineering undergraduate student I always noticed a lack of creative representation in the STEM field. I always wanted to buy clothes, stickers, or art that represented my personality in combination with my program, but only found designs that missed the mark. When I start my Ph.D. program in the middle of the pandemic I took the opportunity to create my own designs which represented my style, color, and engineering field. After taking the leap of faith to post my art as stickers on Etsy, I assumed only a few people would enjoy my designs and it would be my little secret. I was completely wrong! After less than 2 years of selling, I have expanded my shop to 90+ sticker designs and have added other items including badge reels, keychains, notebooks, and planners. I've even had the opportunity to collaborate with other universities, student organizations, and businesses to create almost 800+ custom stickers. I am beyond thankful or each and every person who has supported my small business journey and I cannot wait to bring my designs to your store. Read their story
