Jess Macdonald Brass jewellery is an exploration and tribute to the magnificent landscapes, the wondrous ocean and beautiful cultures around the planet. My work is primarily inspired by Scotland's wild & untamed landscapes, rugged coasts and clan heritage, but I am currently growing my ranges to lands further afield. These pieces are wearable mementos, totems even a talisman to some. They capture and evoke emotion and adventure - memories of people we love and share our connection with the outdoors & nature. I am proud to say all my jewellery is made in Scotland! I either make my pieces from scratch in my workshop on the Isle of Arran, or I create a piece which has a mould made from it by a Scottish casting company across the sea from me and I have small batch castings made in precious metals. These are are then hallmarked, finished and detailed back in my workshop and ready to go!
