About A Blackbird Sang

A Blackbird Sang is 10! Founded in 2016, we are proud to be celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2026. Our name, A Blackbird Sang, is taken from a line in the poem Adlestrop by Edward Thomas: "And for that minute, a blackbird sang close by." Celebrating our 10th year of trading in 2026, our work is inspired by nature, poetry, and literature, drawn (by us) in our studio in Oxfordshire and all made in the UK. Our original designs are for both the home and garden and make wonderfully unique gifts. Bestsellers include our Leaf Quotes (which can be used both indoors and out), indoor Pot Stems, Kraft Paper Tape and Tea Towels. We avoid wastage by only making what we need, when we need it, and we use minimal plastic-free and recyclable packaging. We work with suppliers who care about quality and deliver on time. Our smaller designs are packed by Julie here in our village of Stonesfield, West Oxfordshire. Our key hooks are bent at our kitchen table, if not by Tony then by local students. We exhibit our work at local and national prestigious events and tradeshows, including Oxfordshire Artweeks, RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Top Drawer London. Part of the A Blackbird Sang revenues go towards funding conservation projects such as meadow restoration here in Oxfordshire and supporting local and national charities in the wildlife, food and mental health sectors.
