Founded in Los Angeles, Educated Chola blends cultural heritage with mental health advocacy to help normalize conversations around anxiety, depression, boundaries, and emotional well-being—especially within the Latinx community. Founder Rosa Valdes grew up in Southeast Los Angeles and struggled with anxiety and depression without having the language or resources to name what she was experiencing. Navigating higher education as a first-generation Latina, she witnessed firsthand the stigma surrounding mental health in her community and realized these struggles were widely shared—but rarely spoken about. Educated Chola was created to make mental health visible, relatable, and culturally affirming.
