About Gabrielle Dalsan

Artist: I have a passion for romance, spirituality and eroticism. My work predominantly revolves around the female form, nature and fairytales. I focus on life-drawing, oil painting, Japanese ink and watercolour work. The London Mall Galleries have shown two of my oil-paintings. I derive inspiration from works by Mark Demsteader, William Turner, and more recently from the joy, ornamentation and complexity in Klimt; and in Schiele the honesty and angst in his very expressive, intimate works. I had the privilege to see both artists in Austria this year. In complete contrast, I enjoy the simplicity of Japanese line drawings and Zen paintings in which essences are expressed and reduced to minimal forms. I wish to learn about musical healing modalities, after presenting information on ‘singing as a healing and spiritual practice’ for a final-year project, looking at how we can communicate vast emotions in minimal vocal lines and tones. I currently enjoy turning my art into prints. I use 100% recycled paper and make the best quality prints I can. I hope you enjoy my art in your home! Read their story
