In 2010, I opened “Cowgirl in the Sand,” an online retail boutique featuring an eclectic mix of fashion and lifestyle merchandise. In 2013, my dream of opening a brick and mortar became a reality. Combining a little cowgirl spirit with my love of the sea, chippy wood, flea-market finds, and inspirational words, mixed with a dash of sarcasm and humor, I created a sweet and sassy boutique full of products that I loved, many handmade and produced by women entrepreneurs and small-batch artists. Operating my brick and mortar boutique was a dream come true, but it left little time to create my own products. And so I’ve transitioned my business from my own retail space to a booth within a larger artists collective. For me, this is the perfect solution, as it provides the time required to create new and exciting product lines. I’m grateful for the opportunity to offer my products to new retailers. I especially love working with old pieces of silver and silver plate flatware. Pieces are cleaned organically and then repurposed into hand-stamped serving pieces, unique pieces of jewelry, bookmarks, and other gifts and accessories. Along with the vintage flatware, I also work with beach glass, coins, sterling silver, copper, paper and wood. And words, words, words.
