Our sandals are included in the “Bios” category because they are made with 90% cork and the rest rubber. CORK IS A BIODEGRADABLE, NATURAL AND ORGANIC MATERIAL. The main reasons why it is used to manufacture plants are because of its lightness, waterproofness, elasticity and because it is an ecological and sustainable thermal insulator. Cork is naturally extracted from the bark of the cork oak without harming the tree or the environment. On the other hand, plants are composed of rubber, which is an elastic polymer, which is extracted manually from plants. Hence, it is a natural component. The main properties of rubber are its elasticity and waterproofness, as well as being a great thermal and acoustic insulator, just like cork. ALL OUR SANDALS ARE MANUFACTURED BY HAND IN SPAIN That is, they are assembled by hand. In order for the calfskin to achieve the desired shine and transparency, the shoes are brushed with carnauba wax. This product is natural and is extracted from palm leaves. SKINS WITHOUT CHEMICAL COMPONENTS The main component of our sandals is calfskin, which is naturally tanned cowhide, without chemical components. It is tanned with plants, such as mimosa.
