Hi and Welcome! Idiliusjewelry is an artisanal slow-made gold and silver fine jewelry brand based in Istanbul. My name is Idil and I am the person behind Idiliusjewelry. From the designs to crafting I do everything myself. As with most things in life, my jewelry-making journey was not as straight, or as fast as I would have liked it to be, I studied Economics and worked in corporate life for more than 20 years until I have started learning metalsmithing and making jewelry. The malleability of metal, the craftsmanship and the possibility of blending contemporary and traditional techniques became my fascination and this led me to end my corporate career and fully concentrate on making jewelry. Since then I have been learning the art with master jewelers of Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. All of my pieces are designed and handcrafted in my studio in Istanbul. Each of my pieces is unique and carefully handcrafted for utmost comfort of the wearer. I am a person of detail, and a fan of solving constructional and mechanical problems in constant pursuit of finding new ways of reaching the final piece. I find process of making almost meditative, along with that, research of materials and techniques can often inspire my creation. I like creating intricate, mechanical, and playful pieces with plain forms and refine them into wearable jewelry works while invoking the viewers’ sense of surprise and curiosity when encountered with them.Read their story
