With deep roots in charming Upstate New York, Bender Hill Maple produces the finest maple syrup – a sweet taste of heritage that began over 5 generations ago. Our journey begins with celebrating the age-old art of maple sugaring, a craft passed down through the hands of our ancestor, Arthur Bishop. Arthur would begin his annual labor while the earth lay frozen beneath its wintry cover. His cold, weathered hands, wielding a time-honored tapping tool, worked with both speed and precision. Arthur selected the finest maple trees to bear the weight of hanging buckets, and as the sap flowed, he tended to each tree like an old friend, collecting the clear liquid with a sense of reverence for nature's beautiful gift. A symphony of crackling fires and fragrant steam emanated from his rustic sugarhouse, where he carefully boiled the sap, nurturing its transformation into a golden nectar that embodied the very essence of his land and toil. Arthur, keeper of tradition, shared the sweet rewards of his labor with a community that cherished the fruits of his dedication.
