Hi there! I'm Merima Zeljkovic Abrigo, the founder of the Swedish swimwear brand Syvênde Swimwear and I have a question for you: Do you think swimwear shopping is fun and simple? Or are you one of those who loathe it? I've spent most of my career in luxury fashion and have gotten to know my customers well. Many of them have one thing in common: they feel insecure about their bodies and want to hide their perceived imperfections. I think that's wrong. I believe that a woman, instead of wanting to hide what she is ashamed of, should look for clothes that emphasize what she is proud of. I found that in swimwear, this is especially true. That's why I say: Swimwear should emphasize what a woman is proud of. I also found that women, with perfectly healthy and beautiful bodies, either have to choose between swimwear that fits their bodies but is boring, or swimwear that is trendy and exciting, but just doesn’t fit. I want to change that. That’s why I designed Syvênde Swimwear: Luxurious and timelessly elegant swimwear that fits. And I’m painfully aware of the fashion industry’s huge environmental impact, and the fact that it will not change for the better overnight. But I want to do what I can to contribute to a greener industry. I want to be part of the change towards more sustainable fashion. That is why, after traveling the world looking for sustainable fabrics, I found high-end Italian fabrics made of ECONYL® regenerated nylon yarn.
