As a mom of 3, I had my share of challenges. My eldest was having a hard time learning to tie his shoes. He couldn't "see" where this loop went over that loop or this bunny ear went around the other one. It was heartbreaking to watch him be so frustrated and eventually quit. It was also frustrating as a parent because then I had to tie his shoes, taking away a small portion of his impending independence. I figured there had to be a better way. After months and months of trial and error, I figured out how to make bi-colored shoelaces. With 2 different colors on one lace, it was easier for my son to "see" the left from the right side, or the red bunny loop from the blue bunny loop. Many months more of experimenting and then learning how to start a business...TyeTheShoe was born, helping kids learn how to tie their shoes. They have been successful in helping people who live with ASD, as well. As people heard of us, we had requests for team colors for sports fans and players alike. Since we already were making bi-colored shoelaces, we figured we could help out the fans. We are truly the only completely customizable shoelace out there. No two pair are exactly the same so you will truly have a unique item to wear. Occasionally, we bring out other items like crib shoes and onesies as great shower gifts or holiday gifts.
