As a woman with extremely sensitive, acne-prone, combination skin, I struggled from my teen years to find skincare that would soothe, balance, and heal my skin without irritating and breaking it out within weeks. Organic or synthetic, cheap or expensive– everything I tried always seemed to fail me within weeks. In desperation, I went back to my naturalist mother’s roots and began studying skin health and plant-based skincare formulation. Over a decade, I developed natural-origin recipes that not only finally work for my own skin, but that work for an ever-expanding network of other women as well! I am thrilled to be able to offer you this formula I use on my own face every day, in the form of Ophir Gold. I am honored to be a fifth-generation West Virginian, and Ophir is built on some of the core values we hold most dear here in the Appalachian Mountains: community, generational wisdom, and love for nature. I personally compound, bottle and pack each of Ophir Beauty’s artisan products by hand, blending generational wisdom with modern knowledge, safety standards and formulation practices, to create thoughtfully-formulated, nature-focused skincare of unparalleled quality and effectiveness. All my products are thoroughly tested on the happy faces of real women of diverse ages and skin types.
