West Michigan Candle Co. began in 2019 when Rebecca Stead-Choponis decided to quit working and stay home with her kids. She chose candle-making as a hobby. She instantly fell in love with it and started the home-based small business. The more she learned about candles the more she realized how many toxins are in candles, even if they are made with an all-natural wax like soy wax there could be unwanted ingredients hidden within the fragrances. That is when she knew she wanted to provide non-toxic home fragrance products to families like hers. Within 3 years of opening up for business Rebecca has expanded West Michigan Candle Co. to provide more than only candles and now offers a whole line of different home fragrance products and opened a storefront in Reed City, MI in 2022.
