NOUGAT DIANE DE POYTIERS, A FAMILY STORY... In 1920, Charlotte and Antonin Chambonnière, passionate about history, founded the “Nougat Diane de Poytiers” factory. Duchess of Dauphinois in the 16th century, Diane de Poytiers was, according to legend, one of the ambassadors of nougat. A street and a 16th century house still bear his name to this day in the city center of Montélimar. Thinking that she would be a great face for their future nougat factory, Charlotte and Antonin decided to register her name as a brand. Thus begins this family story of artisan nougatiers in Montélimar, which has lasted for three generations. Today, Charlotte's grandson, Frédéric Chambonnière, and his team continue the tradition. Its motto is to favor the use of local and authentic products such as honey and almonds in order to better control the quality of raw materials. Over time, he surrounded himself with a team of twelve people who enable him to produce more than 75 tons of Montélimar nougat every year.
