Founder, Linda Hillaire, visualised and created Evelyn48, at a time when experiencing great personal loss. We all know that there will be day when those central to our lives will leave us. For Linda, it was the loss of her beloved mother Evelyn, tragic and life changing. Evelyn, a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was the head of the family. She raised five children on her own and as a role model she ensured that her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would grow up to shape their lives to became confident individuals to then be positive role models to their own children. The family home at number 48 was warm, foundational and nurturing, this was where unforgettable memories were built. It was the place that shaped the lives of the five children of Evelyn. And later grandchildren and great-grandchildren would have their own memories and stories to tell about number 48. If only walls could talk! Each one of Evelyn's children would have their own stories to tell and many admired what they observed without being privy to all that a family endures and experiences. The events that followed the loss of Evelyn, highlighted all the confusion of grief that can ensnare a family. The confusing tasks of executors when managing the will, new interpretations of clear request are just a few of the challenges any family may face at the most vulnerable time when grieving for a family member.
