Brent Gillentine spent two decades in IT before making a full-time leap into ceramics, a craft he’s been drawn to since childhood. After years of taking classes, apprenticing, and raising a family, he moved from Austin to New York City and now creates from a shared studio space in Manhattan. Brent is inspired by everyday objects and aims to craft pieces that people want to use and display daily. His work has traveled far thanks to word of mouth, from coworker gift chains to pieces proudly displayed in people’s homes. When he’s not at the wheel, Brent enjoys watching soccer, traveling with his wife, Andi, and staying connected to his two grown-up kids who live on the West Coast.Read their story
