Blissara Celebrating Connection Through Craft We are two friends from Ecuador and Nicaragua, who met in the United States in 2019. Over the years, our friendship grew stronger, and after the pandemic started, we decided to turn our shared passion for culture and craftsmanship into something meaningful. The inspiration for Blissara came during a special moment in Santa Fe, New Mexico, when we were walking through the historic downtown after Masiel’s wedding. We were captivated by the beautiful pewter home décor crafted by Native American artisans. Jorge immediately recognized a connection to the traditions of Ecuadorian artisans who also create stunning pewter designs. What makes Ecuadorian pewter creations unique is their incorporation of tagua seeds—sustainably harvested and hand-polished to resemble ivory but entirely plant-based. These "vegetable ivory" accents, combined with pewter’s timeless beauty, create home décor pieces that are not only elegant but also sustainable. This realization sparked an idea: to build a brand that celebrates the cultural connections between our heritage and the world. At Blissara, we bring handcrafted pewter products from Ecuador to the U.S., highlighting the artistry of talented artisans who pour their hearts into every piece. Through our products, we aim to share the beauty of our cultures, showing how, despite being from different places, we are all connected by the artistry and traditions that make us who we are.
