About Blue Camel

I am a young woman who has been lucky enough to travel and live abroad for work and pleasure. During my trips I have come across some beautiful handmade items made in small villages or by budding designers. In some cases I just had to buy several pieces there and then, knowing full well how much the income would help that community. I feel all of these pieces can find their place in our western homes and businesses. I also think that unique items should not be a luxury which those with ordinary lifestyles can only admire from the bland mass-produced High Street. And finally, I like to find outlets for some of my more creative moments by upcycling tired old furniture or creating my own useful objects or furnishings. The Blue Camel was originally inspired by my long walks in the Libyan mountains where I met some crafting villagers and admired their handiwork. Now I just want some of these gorgeous items to feature in shops around the world!Read their story
