On April 2020, like many people across the country I decided to help the community with the pandemic, using my established company of 10yrs, LittleMissThingz and I started sewing and making 3 layered cotton mask with a light filter inside that can be washed and re-used again. This was very popular as I was making them for FREE. Everyone was happy to pay but I refused as my thinking was to help the community. I did however, set up a JustGiving page, to raise money for the NHS. I had put my target goal to be £50 as I just wanted people to donate £1 or £2. I raised £1052 from customers who had free masks, who were donating from £5 to £30. This was an achievement I did not expect & I am grateful to everyone. The success of sewing masks made me realise that I can learn to make other products and with plenty of time on my hands, having been made redundant a few months down the line, I decided to seperate what I do with LittleMissThingz (wedding stationery & venue dressing) from what I would like to do with Made by Lenee. The business was officially registered on 9th October 2020 as Made by Lenee Ltd. The name Made by Lenee was chosen by me to reflect on what the business entails. All products produced are hand made and given the special touch by myself. Lenee (my full name is Arlene) was a nickname given to me by my dad, who passed away in November 2019. Made by Lenee is a trendsetting online store, offering first-rate products and exceptional customer service to shoppers
