About Rusty Studio

Russell is the illustrator behind Rusty Studio and the husband of Petra Boase. Russell creates many of Petra's iconic illustrations and is heavily involved with the design and print process within her company. With a background in fine art, advertising and hospitality, in 2018 Russell embarked on the renowned Children’s book illustration MA at Anglia Ruskin, Cambridge. While he hasn’t published any books to date, during lockdown he developed his own range of characters, Yoki (dog) and Neko (cat) getting up to various lockdown antics and shared them on instagram. The characters were developed into a popular range of risograph printed greeting cards and have continued to grow with lots of other ideas and products in development, stay tuned!
