About Olivia de Rivaz

I am a veterinary surgeon and artist, based in Wiltshire. Having immersed myself in science for many years, I eventually gave in to the need to paint. I find a healthy dose of creativity does wonders for my sanity, and have realised that life is too short to not attempt a foray into the art world. I now divide my time between my two professions. It is usually no surprise, knowing I'm a vet, that my designs are inspired by animals and birds - so far mostly of the British countryside but I do sometimes look further afield! When time allows, I shut myself away in my studio and get lost painting some ridiculously detailed bit of fur or feather, and it makes me feel peaceful. When presenting my paintings on products I put a great deal of time and care into making sure they are right - in terms of colour, print and material quality, and sustainability. All my products are made in the UK and I use plastic free and recycled packaging wherever possible.
