About Flor de sal

We are a family agricultural company which, generation after generation, has been reinventing and adapting to new markets. Several decades ago, great-grandfather Fernando Grúas was already cultivating the fertile lands of the Vega del Río Cinca with a subsistence economy aimed at local markets. With the arrival of new irrigations in the sixties, the family farm grew and diversified crops, although the undisputed king to this day is rice. Its great tolerance for saline lands and the abundance of water due to the new irrigations, as well as the high quality of its grain, made it a symbol of our land. It was in 2009 when the first olive tree was planted and when the Flor de Sal oil brand was born, honoring the saline terrain of our farms. It was in 2011, after two years, that the first bottle of Flor de Sal Oil was marketed. For more than a decade of experience, we have been evolving and satisfying the needs that our customers demand of us. In 2018, SHIO (“salt” in Japanese) was born due to the need to incorporate a line of exclusive products with superior quality. The first products of this family were SHIO Picual and SHIO Arbequina, extra-early harvested EVOOs with fresh green hues following the trends of the most select international markets.
