Woodcraft Haven was born from a deep-seated love for interior design, discovered while I was decorating my own home. What began as a personal project soon grew into a passion that couldn’t be ignored. After completing my Ph.D. in Humanities and spending several years working in adjunct positions, I found myself yearning for a creative outlet, something that combined my academic background with a tangible craft. Woodcraft became that bridge—a way to express myself while creating something beautiful and functional. Every piece I design is a reflection of that journey, merging the meticulous attention to detail from my academic days with the warmth and character that only handcrafted wood can provide. I started small, with a few custom pieces for friends and family, but the positive feedback and growing demand led me to take the leap and turn this passion into a full-time endeavor. Today, Woodcraft Haven’s pieces are not just available online but also in four beloved handcraft stores across New Orleans. The excitement of seeing my work appreciated in physical spaces inspired me to reach even further. Now, as we expand into the larger market through Faire, I’m thrilled to share the warmth and craftsmanship of Woodcraft Haven with a broader audience.
