About Lammily

In 2013, a simple question changed the toy industry: “What if fashion dolls were made with standard human body proportions?” After searching for a realistic doll for his niece and finding nothing, artist Nickolay Lamm used CDC measurements of an average 19-year-old woman to create a digital prototype. The image went viral globally, featured by Time, CNN, and ABC, and even caught the attention of Demi Lovato. The message from parents was clear: "We want to buy this." On March 5, 2014, a crowdfunding campaign launched to turn the prototype into reality. It was an instant success, with over 13,600 backers preordering 19,000+ dolls. Lammily officially launched in November 2014, introducing the world’s first fashion doll with realistic proportions. To further promote body positivity, we released Lammily Marks—reusable stickers for stretch marks, cellulite, and scars—allowing children to see their dolls as reflections of real life. This "Lammily Effect" was so powerful that Time credited it with influencing industry giants like Mattel to diversify their own lines. Since then, we have expanded to include: Animal Rescuer Lammily: The first male doll with average proportions. Lammily Wheelchair: Promoting physical inclusivity and accessibility. Lammily Period Party: Educating young girls and normalizing having a period.
