I grew up in Vail Colorado and was a competitive ski racer from age 8 to 18. I trained on the same hill as Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin. But for me, skiing was an enrichment activity. A full day outside with my best friends. We’d goof off, race through the adventure zones, share stories on the chairlift, and live off of starburst and gummy worms. Once I left Colorado, it was hard to find girlfriends to ski with. There’s a big barrier to entry for someone who has never done it before and it’s marketed as intense and masculine. So I started hosting a Galentines ski trip every year with my best friends. The first year, we all skied at different levels, some were bored on the bunnies, others were scared of the moguls. To break the ice, we broke out my parent’s old onesies and packed a speaker. With tight legs and fringe flying behind us we had a newfound energy. We danced, double ducked down the catwalks, and cheered everyone on. It made us all more confident, made us feel like a team, and everyone was excited to get back out there the next day. That’s when I knew I needed to bring playful ski clothes back! -Anna Tedstrom “Teddy” xoxo
