Salyel Paris was created by Fatimata, an african immigrants daughter, who grew up in France and live in Paris. She decided through the brand Salyel to honor her senegalese grand-mother ( Salyel is her nickname)  and explore african cultures by revisiting african masks aesthetics and phylosophy. Our clothes have a story that is important to know. Knowing the cultural references and the intention behind each design is creating a connection to these cultures. Like the traditional tribal masks our masks cannot just be reduced to their aesthetics. A tribal mask has always a function, a spiritual dimension, a power.
