About Occult Herbs and Tonics

We founded Occult Herbs and Tonics in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. During the lock downs many of our close friends missed coming over for BBQs and started longing for some of our spice blends that are known for bring unique flavors into the kitchen. This gave us the idea to start a spice company, not wanting to follow suit with every other spice company we decided to theme our blends around the folklore and culture of the regions they originated. With 4 recipes and a dream we took to Kickstarter to see if the idea would hold water in the public and after only 9 weeks of our 12-week goal we not only met our funding goal but exceeded it. With that crowd funding we purchased our first four labels and our first bulk batch of spices. Since then (4 years later) we have grown OHT into a local Colorado Springs spice blend sensation with 22 handcrafted spice blends, working closely with local food trucks, breweries, local shops and we even started a line of sweet toppers and drink mixes. As amazing as it has been to make a change in our local community, and it has been amazing, we are taking 2024 to expand our range and spread our flavors into new areas. As a small spice company, we offer a unique flavor experience. Unlike many large brands we refuse to use fillers like salt and bleached sugar to make our blends go further and make us more money. All our blends are made from real spices that are carefully selected from ethical companies.Read their story
