My name is Nicole. I’m a mommy, wife, and sixth grade teacher. I am the founder of ShopByThePalms. In October of 2017, I randomly decided to start selling coffee cups and wine glasses on Etsy. The shop kept my husband and I busy through the holiday season, while also working as a full time teachers. At that time, we had our son at home and hated leaving him every morning to go to work. I felt like I was missing half his life and only catching him in the morning and afternoon. That holiday season, our shop did exceptionally well and I began to see the potential it could have. After that season, in the quiet of January, my husband and I started brainstorming different ideas and directions to take our shop to. We knew we wanted a large family and we also knew that the time we spent away from our children was heart wrenching for the two of us. That spring, I changed my last name and wanted a doormat that would reflect our family. I decided to make one myself--not seeing anything I wanted online. We were shocked at how nicely it came out and decided to put them in our shop! Five years and three little boys later; I am working full time as a small business owner and I have never been happier.
