hamam mama was started by elizabeth drumm, a mother of two, after she couldn't find a nursing cover that she enjoyed using. being half turkish, it one day donned on her to try making one out of a lightweight turkish 'hamam' towel, which have long been used in turkey for all things baby. after getting compliments on her initial nursing + car seat cover every where she brought it, she decided to start selling her growing assortment at local craft shows in the denver and boulder area, to a great response from local moms. her products are made out of ethically sourced, handloomed flatwoven turkish 'hamam' towels, which she sources from some of the few remaining weavers in turkey that are still making them the old fashioned way, using only 100% luxurious turkish cotton and woven on traditional shuttle looms. the towels are then designed, cut and sewn into the finished product in the greater denver area by independent seamstresses and mothers, often in their own homes. the beautiful + unique turkish towel fabric makes all of the hamam mama pieces breathable, absorbent, ethical, and versatile. more than just a product, hamam mama was founded with the mission to support women in their motherhood journeys, wherever motherhood may take them, and 5% of every purchase is donated to Every Mother Counts to support their cause in providing safe pregnancies and births to every mother, every where. so far, hamam mama has been seen in vanity fair uk, south denver moms, and voyage denver.
