About Toucoulor

The Toucoulor brand is born at the end of 2020, under the impetus by a young Parisian fashion designer, Amy Lee Djougari. Concerned about ethical and committed fashion, she wishes to pay tribute to her African roots, while expressing her love for Paris where she has always lived, in an uninhibited way, assuming the different facets of her identity, beyond ethnic clichés. It re-explores traditional African know-how and in particular the indigo dye that it has made its trademark, on decidedly modern and Western cuts. Toucoulor pieces are the clever blend of Parisian and city life sprinkled with subtle African touches. The collections, whose fabrics are carefully selected from the ends of the rolls of the great designers in Paris, and chosen from artisans in Senegal and Mali, are made in the heart of Paris, capital of fashion, and in Africa for some pieces. A lover of fashion shows, elaborate cuts and details, she has always made fashion design her means of expression. She is inspired by Paris, the great creators, the urban woman, but also by her dual culture and by strong women like her Fulani grandmother, independent and resilient. Committed to ethical and inclusive fashion, the brand Toucoulor defends the values of transmission, solidarity, authenticity and inclusion. She has at heart the idea of a universal woman who knows how to see beyond differences.
