About My Neighbor’s Tallow

My Neighbor’s Tallow was born from a desire to craft the highest quality, all natural skincare products from locally-sourced agriculture. I was a new mother and living in the Hudson Valley after leaving my Wall Street career behind. My new daughter had been suffering from eczema, and when I considered balms and ointments offered on today’s market, I found a skincare industry saturated with products containing chemicals and toxic fillers, and I wanted a balm with simple, sustainable, and safe ingredients. I reached out to my community for a solution and made new friends at a local farm Kinderhook Farm who sparked my interest in rendering tallow and regenerative farming. Regenerative farming is a holistic approach that goes beyond sustainable farming practices to actively restore and enhance the health of the land. Farmers embrace principles such as soil health improvement, biodiversity promotion, and carbon sequestration, creating a harmonious ecosystem that benefits both the environment and the community. It was here, at this bucolic farm in the Upper Hudson Valley, that I discovered the idea of using 100% grass-fed & finished tallow as the base to my skincare. My mission is to formulate small batch products that outshine in both effectiveness and simplicity then the mass-produced products that dominate traditional skincare.
