About The house of scents

The story so far: The House of Scents began on 5th January 2020 as a project to do from home around my full-time job as a health care assistant at Scarborough hospital. I focussed originally on making and supplying sizzlers, a scented granual that works similar to wax melts but are far less messy. Orders grew steadily through January and February until lockdown started on the 23rd March 2020 and orders started to grow rapidly. I went from doing 1 or 2 orders per week through January, February and March growing to 15 orders per week in April and now currently doing around 200-300 orders per month and it continues to rise! I was able to leave my full time job to focus solely on my business. My product range has expended from just sizzlers to include sample boxes, hampers, carpet fresheners, bath bombs, soap sponges, toilet fizzers, burners, room sprays and I have plans to grow further this year. I started making the sizzlers on the kitchen table but rapidly outgrew that and moved into the home office. This was ideal for the first few months until I could no longer move in the home office and in August I moved into a larger office in the Yorkshire Business Centre, Scarborough. I soon outgrew this and moved to an even larger office in November, only lasting a month until having to move once again to a suite of offices. I now have a separate making room, office, store room & show room. Read their story
