About Lella

Hi, I'm Catherine. I live in Hertford, UK with my husband, daughter and cat. I studied textile design and surface pattern at Uni in the 90s but went into HR and stayed there for 17 long years before realising I wanted to get creative again. I ditched HR and started Lella in 2017. I design clothes for babies, kids and adults with bold bright slogans which are inspired by popular culture. My best selling designs are RAVE ING* and Yoof - I like to play with words and designs! My Husband is a DJ and was big on the rave scene in the 90s so he's the inspiration for the RAVE-ING design (deliberate mis-spelling there). Yoof is a play on the words Youth (gotta say it in a London accent!) We love going to festivals in the summer and its been a business highlight to see my tshirts being worn in the real world! Every item is printed to order by me in my home studio in Hertfordshire using heat press vinyl. I am committed to using sustainable products and processes, all my packaging is recyclable and being a made to order brand I am able to keep waste to a minimum. Some of my products are organic cotton and those that are not are all brands that are committed to ethical and sustainable practise. Thanks for your interest in Lella. Catherine :)
