About PIZZycle

In 2017, a study commissioned by NABU revealed that around 50,000 tons of pizza box waste is generated annually only in Germany! This accounts for 22% of the take-away industry. If we would stack up these pizza boxes, they would be twice as high as the diameter of the Earth! When we also discovered, that used cardboard pizza boxes cannot be recycled, it became clear to us designers Marlene and Luise, that a more sustainable solution was urgently needed. Co-developed for almost 2 years with Filip and pizzaiolos from all over the world, PIZZycle was finally born in 2022! Using high-quality food-grade polypropylene, each PIZZycle replaces hundreds of pizza cardboard boxes and is 100 % recyclable. Since our launch, we have been working with amazing customers, enabling us to have a big impact on the environment. Our customers include pizza chains like Dominos Pizza, luxury hotels like the Ritz Carlton in Miami and the Hilton Hotel.
